Postgraduate studies
The dream of continuing university studies
Enter the university, I feel it as something that was written in my life. I had important references in my family, which made my enter to university not only desired, but also an thing obvious and obligatory.
However, postgraduate studies I always considered as a dream; that is, not written in my life. The reasons for this, is that I consider myself a person who has had to go through many shortcomings, despite having been privileged in many ways. Therefore, one of the reasons to do graduate studies is to fulfill this dream. In addition, I would like to continue my studies for the passion of constantly learning, and give social use to that knowledge.
Among the options for postgraduate studies, the closest is the "continuity of studies". Currently, as a fourth year student of sociology, I have the minimum requirements to apply for the next year to the magister in "Social Sciences: Sociology of Modernization", without having graduated as a sociologist. In this sense, my intention is to carry out my postgraduate studies in Chile, specifically at the University of Chile. This magister is quite open in his themes, but is focused on deepening knowledge in sociology. In addition, it is characterized by having class schedules only in the afternoons, which allows to reconcile the times for the possibility of working in parallel.
I am uncertain of being selected, but having the minimum requirements, I would like not to miss the opportunity and try. If it does not work out, I will try to take other options to do out postgraduate studies.
It sounds like a very interesting topic! I really wish you the best of lucks and that you can accomplish your dream
